I was born in Brighton, England in 1949. At an early age (3 ½!) I started school at St. Michaels, a small private school in Harrington Road. Already at the age of 5 we were learning French and latin, both of which I’ve long forgotten! I suppose it may have helped my general education but I have to say, it was not ever anything that I made much use of!
I finished my junior school years at Stanford Road before passing my Eleven-plus exam with flying colours and entering senior school at Brighton and Hove Grammer School
I grew up with animals in my life… our little terrier, “the Pooch”
And later the pony that was my sister’s passion but that she outgrew
Although school, sports and my other interests allowed me a fulfilled life, with the appearance of The Beatles, the pop music revolution of the sixties, everything else became of little or no interest and my school friend Tim and I wanted nothing but to emulate the Beatles. We decided to form our own band, the Midbeats, and so my music era began!
